Just Checking In

We often talk about romantic love but where is the hype around platonic love, the love that puts hearts back together that they didn't break, the love that is always on the other end of the love, the love that sits with you in the storm.

Just checking in is inspired by the 1000s of voice notes, text messages and phone calls that I received from my beautiful friends in a difficult few weeks.

Platonic love often gets overlooked when actually, it saves me every time.

The poem:

Hey are you free? / I need to call / can we get coffee soon? / things are really getting on top of me / it’s been a difficult afternoon / i’m sorry you must be sick of this / your feelings matter to me / I am never sick of talking to you / call me whenever, I am free 

Just checking in my love / you’re going to be just fine / take as long as you need / I will always have time / I don’t know where i’m going / we’ll walk with you until you do / thank you for holding space for me / it’s what i’m here for, I love you.
